lantak kau lah Ah Kau

Was watching RTM2. A program entitled ‘a day in a life’ . main focus was an orang asli man named Ah Kau. He work as a, well…collecting whatever the jungle offers that can be exchange for money. He didn’t went to school. He found people who talked malay as weird, so he send all of his children/s (I don’t know,how many he have thou) to school. His beloved wife name is ‘lantak’. we were laughing like heck due to her unacceptable name. shame on us I guess. My sis even make a joke about it ‘Lantak kau lah,Ah Kau’ that’s not the point. What im trying to state here is how simple their life are. Laid back. A humble hut is enough for them. They wear selipar jepun. Early morning :went to the jungle, built a temporary hut. Not so early morning: they went deep into the jungle for hunting. If they were lucky they end up with pig or what so ever. If luck are not on their side, they come back empty handed. Afternoon :lunch. Eating ubi kayu. Bakar dengan kayu api. Tanpa garam,gula,perasa dan pastinya tiada aji-no-moto Late afternoon :sleep. Evening :cook. Today they cooked pucuk paku. Mind you its not pucuk paku muda yg biasa kita makan. Ini pucuk paku yang besar macam kipas tu ok. Letak air,letak ’pucuk’ paku, garam lepas itu kacau sampai sebati. It looks like they are playing ’masak- masak’. but they actually eating those, and they are CONTEND AND HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY HAVE.
Then we tuned in 8tv ‘we’r different’ bet you guys really do. From simple humble life of orang asli name Ah Kau and his wife to ultra rich life of Martha Steward and her apprentices. It just so different. These people are running here and there, rushing to meet dateline, brainstorming, fighting with each other. They live in sky scrapper . They dine with chef ramsey standard. They wear high heels, leather shiny shoes. Early morning : take away coffee. Stuck in new York heavy traffic. Running to their work place. Not so early morning : they have meeting, brainstorming, arguments. Rushing to make an order. Afternoon : take away lunch. Working. Negotiating with clients. Stabbing each other back. Bloody hell Late afternoon : came out with conclusion. Stop fighting. Work. Dateline! Evening : work. The day ended at 12 midnight mind you! Will they get what they want? Victory? With that hard work. no doubt it theirs. Do they contented? If they win, yes. At least for this week… Will it end? N.O My sis once said ‘my work will never end unless I quit’ Right sis. And this 2nd kind is most of us life. Except that im not living ultra rich life like Martha do.

I guess no matter which life we are leading, kalau hanya untuk mendapatkan keredaan dari-NYA, it doesn’t matter anymore.
